Simplifi Law was co-founded by Gawie Malan – a corporate, commercial and contract law specialist, and Hannah Wilson – a family, marital and divorce law practitioner. Together, they have combined practice experience of 50 years (and combined life experience going on 100).
Simplifi Advice

Here we do what we’ve always done – the lawyering bit – just more simply and practically.
Hannah advises clients primarily in the areas of marital and divorce law, law as it relates to the elderly and certain aspects of estate planning.
Gawie advises clients on all things corporate, commercial and contractual, focusing on mergers & acquisitions, investments and restructurings.
We take pride in the fact that at Simplifi we provide clients with integrated advice that recognises the real-world overlap between our clients’ personal and commercial interests.

E.I. is for Early Intervention. We are the lawyers who get involved sooner, to spare you the pain of involving lawyers later (we know, we lawyers are a tedious bunch, so let us help you minimise your exposure). Prevention is better than court, so think of Simplifi E.I. as the thing you need to stay out of it.
Our early interventions come in various forms, and we can design a bespoke intervention for your specific needs if required. Our offerings include legal coaching for individuals and executives, workshops on specific topics for small groups as well as corporates, speaking engagements on topical issues and facilitated think tanks.
Hannah Wilson
Hannah Wilson holds a B.Comm, LLB (with distinction), LLM (tax), as well as an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning Law and an Advanced Diploma in Estate and Trust Administration.
She specializes in divorce and family mediations, specifically those with complex financial aspects.
Hannah previously practiced as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa where she had a general commercial practice. She started out her professional career in corporate finance.
As a result of her work experience in both the financial and legal sectors, Hannah has a unique blend of commercial, financial and legal skills which she draws on to help her clients see and understand the big picture context of their particular circumstances and/or disputes, and to help them craft practical, efficient and cost-effective solutions and/or alternatives.
Gawie Malan
Gawie Malan holds B.A, LLB and LLM (commercial law) degrees and is an internationally accredited CEDR commercial mediator.
He specializes in advising clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, investments, commercial mediation and corporate law.
Gawie has previously founded and co-founded two boutique advisory companies, a niche law firm specializing in commercial and mining law and a consultancy specializing in advising BEE shareholders on value realization and meaningful participation in the South African mining industry.
He is committed to ensuring that transactions and investments are concluded (and where necessary unwound) as simply and clearly as possible, it being his firm belief that litigation is to be avoided at (almost) all costs.
As a result of this outlook, Gawie is often drawn to advising and mediating in respect of complex and acrimonious commercial relationships, requiring difficult conversations and simple, elegant solutions.
